Fear of Embarrassment

The definition of ashamed is

embarrassed or guilty because of one’s actions, characteristics, or associations.

reluctant to do something through fear of embarrassment or humiliation.

If you are ashamed of the Gospel that means you feel embarrassed or guilty for believing in God and you fear humiliation from others.

Now wait a minute…That is very harsh.

Yes. If you are ashamed of God then you are living in fear. If you are embarrassed by God then you probably don’t truly believe He exists.

Matthew 10:32-33
“Everyone who acknowledges me publicly here on earth, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven. But everyone who denies me here on earth, I will also deny before my Father in heaven.”

When you say you are a Christian on Sunday, but the rest of the week are ashamed of Christ, you are denying Him on earth. You are living a lie and in fear.

John 8:44

For you are the children of your father the devil, and you love to do the evil things he does. He was a murderer from the beginning. He has always hated the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and the father of lies.

2 Timothy 1:7

For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.

1 John 4:18

Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love.

Are you ashamed? Are you living in fear? Are you living a lie? Have you never fully experienced His perfect Love?

If yes…there is still hope. Don’t be a child of Satan anymore.

Romans 10:9

If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

Let Christ’s perfect love fill you and create a new spirit inside of you. One that says I am not Ashamed of the Gospel of Christ!

If you need to talk find a Christian friend or a pastor you trust. Or I would be happy to talk to you.

God Bless!
