If you have ever been in a situation like this you will understand when I say “I CANT TAKE IT ANYMORE!!!”
Life is crazy whither you have kids or not. The rat race that we call normal life consequently sucks the life out of us! When we get to the point when we feel like we cant take the madness anymore and peace is something that is hard to dream of anymore; that is when we need to turn to someone greater then ourselves!
Jesus is the help you are looking for. It says in John 14:27 “I am leaving you with a gift–peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid. “
Are you ready for a complete and perfect peace in your life?
Looking at this verse something I notice is that it says peace of mind and heart! When we are living in the peace that comes from Christ we have peace in our current situation (peace in mind) and peace in the past and future (peace in heart).
Lets look at the peace of mind. Day in and day out we are bombarded with a million things at once. It is very easy to look at those bills, deadlines, car problems, kids screaming, and so much more. The stress is enough to make many people sick!
C. S. Lewis said, “God CANNOT give us a happiness and peace apart from Himself, BECAUSE it is not there. There is no such thing.”
Apart from Christ we have no hope of staying on top of the worries and problems of this world.
Isaiah 26: 3-4 You (God) will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you! Trust in the LORD always, for the LORD GOD is the eternal Rock.
With all the ideas and things in this world screaming for your trust; only One will never leave you; “And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:20). The eternal Rock who is there ready to give you peace and joy in life.
The next thing is Christ gives us peace in our hearts. Inside of us where our hopes, dreams, fears, regrets, joys, and sorrows.
When we don’t have the peace of God in our hearts we will live in defeat and we won’t have unity with one another.
Colossians 3:12-15 therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourself with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.
We need to allow Christ to rule our hearts. When we do we will be able to live in victory, unity, and peace.
My past is redeemed, my present makes sense, my future is secure.
When Christ rules our lives in our hearts He redeems those past sorrows and regrets. He give us joy and peace in our current circumstances. He give us hope and dreams without fear.
The way we allow Christ to Rule our hearts and minds is summed up in Philippians 4:7-9 it says, ”
And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.”
It is a daily process to think on those things. Seek Christ everyday to help you live in peace.
